Paisley Abbey by nightPaisley Abbey, Abbey Close, founded in 1163. The abbey is well worth the trip for the magnificent stained glass windows alone.

Coats Observatory
Open for stargazing during the winter months, this historic observatory was built in 1883 in the midst of what is now a conservation area.

Glasgow is Scotland's largest city and although not the capital it does have a reputation as Scotland's friendliest city. The shopping is second to none and the city has a very active nightlife scene as well as many fine restaurants and galleries. All of the Glasgow museums have free entry and the city has many fine parks.
